Welcome

This website provides information and support on Domestic Abuse to the Armed Forces Community including serving personnel, their friends and family, veterans, the Chain of Command and civilian and military support providers.

The message behind domestic abuse is a simple one, and is captured in this website:

  • Domestic abuse is not right.
  • You are not alone.
  • It is more common than people think and can affect anyone.  Domestic abuse affects 1 in 4 women and 1 in 6 men during their lifetime, as well as 1 in 4 same sex relationships.
  • Trained professionals can help victims, perpetrators and children.
  • Help is available.

Members of the Armed Forces who are affected by domestic abuse may be concerned about specific issues when they are trying to make decisions around their future, including accommodation, impact on visas and the reality of leaving the military community. These and other issues are covered in Other Information – Common Concerns.

Additional information for the Armed Forces Community is available here, with more generic Domestic Abuse information available here, including information specific to North East Hampshire.
